See your website as visitors from other countries see it
If your site changes by country (currency, language, prices, legal banners, shipping options, redirects), you need to see what real visitors abroad see. VPNs are slow to switch, data-center IPs are often treated differently from real visitors, and checking 10 countries by hand takes an afternoon.
Geo402 fetches your page through a residential IP in any of 190+ countries and returns what that visitor would get.
What you can check
- Geo-redirects: does
example.comsend French visitors to/fr/? Look atfinal_url. - Currency and prices: does Japan see yen and the right price list?
- Language: is the German version actually served to Germany?
- Cookie and consent banners: do EU visitors get the consent banner, and US visitors not?
- Availability: is a product or page hidden in some countries?
- Status codes: is a country accidentally getting a 404 or 403?
With an AI assistant (no code)
Add the MCP server to Claude Desktop or Cursor:
{
"mcpServers": {
"geo402": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "geo402-mcp"],
"env": { "GEO402_PRIVATE_KEY": "0xYOUR_DEDICATED_WALLET_KEY", "GEO402_BUDGET": "2" }
}
}
}
Then ask:
"Fetch https://mysite.com/pricing from the US, Germany, Japan and Brazil, and tell me which currency and price each one shows, and whether any of them redirect."
The assistant uses compare_page_across_countries, pays about $0.005 per country, and answers with a table.
With one API call per country
GET https://geo402.com/api/fetch?url=https://mysite.com/pricing&country=jp&format=text
Use format=html if you want to check specific tags (hreflang, canonical, structured data) rather than the visible text.
A simple monitoring script
Run it weekly (cron, GitHub Actions) to catch localization regressions:
const countries = ["us", "gb", "de", "fr", "jp", "br"];
for (const c of countries) {
const page = await pageFrom("https://mysite.com/pricing", c); // see the price-check guide for pageFrom()
const currency = (page.content.match(/[$€£¥]|R\$/) || ["?"])[0];
console.log(c, page.status, page.final_url, currency);
}
Six countries cost about $0.005 x 6 per run.
Good to know
- Geo402 obeys your site's
robots.txt(both the rules for all bots and any rules namingGeo402), so pages you block from bots can't be checked this way. - Pages are cut at a few MB; only the HTML is downloaded (no images or scripts).
- It is a plain, honest request (user agent
Geo402), not a full browser: content rendered only by JavaScript after load won't appear.
